This was a really good book. It is a prequel of sorts to the book Graceling, which was a Top Novel book last summer. Execpt it's set in a different continent of the same world, with all different characters. If you like Graceling, you'll definately like Fire. It has everything. Romance, sexual tension, an impending battle, and mystery. I love Fire as a character, she is such a vibrant person. Her feelings for Archer are interesting to say the least. The book has a happy ending, but if you have read Graceling, you know that the happiness is temporary.

Excellent book. I never expected for her to fall in love with Brigan. I think Fire was better than Graceling but both were excellent books. If you read both books you can see the similarities.
